The Blaine Law Enforcement Explorer Program, run by the Blaine Police Department and Learning For Life, is a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing young adults to the Law Enforcement Career.

Explorers are trained by deparment advisors in police techniques, crime prevention, and first aid. Explorers then use those skills in State and National competitions.

To raise money for the post, Explorers will volunteer to work certain details, such as traffic control at the USA Cup, Blaine's Blazin' Fourth, and other community events.

Explorers are also guided by the Chain of Command. The Chain of Command is a group of 9 ranking explorers who help supervise and lead explorers.

All new explorers begin in a 3-month probationary period. After this time, they are issued uniforms and duty gear. The cost of the uniforms and gear is paid for the by the post. Explorers are not issued badges, do not exercise authority and are classified as "Civilian Volunteers".

Meetings are every Sunday night during the school year, and are mandatory.

For additional information, please email the post advisor, Sgt. Brian Owens, or any Chain of Command member, listed on the Chain of Command or Contact page.
